About Us

What is memsHUB?

This web site is a community resource for research, education and collaboration in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). It hosts various resources which will help you learn about MEMS, including lectures, courses, Animations, Teaching Materials, and more. These resources come from contributors in our scientific community, and are used by visitors from all over the world.

Most importantly, memsHUB.org offers simulation tools which you can access from your web browser, so you can not only learn about but also simulate MEMS devices.

Our Mission

memsHUB was created by the NNSA Center for Prediction of Reliability, Integrity and Survivability of Microsystems, a university center funded by the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) under their Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program (PSAAP). PRISM is centered at Purdue University, with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of New Mexico as partners.

During the last few years, there has been great interest in the development of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) for civilian and defense applications. However, for MEMS to be widely deployed, they must satisfy stringent performance and reliability requirements, which they have thus far been unable to meet. PRISM seeks to significantly accelerate the development of MEMS technologies for civilian and military applications through the use of predictive, validated science and petascale computing.
